Water Trucks, also known as Dust Suppression Trucks or Water Tankers, are commonly used on cleared land such as construction sites, mining areas, or during land development to control dust. These trucks spray water over the exposed soil to dampen dust particles, preventing them from becoming airborne. Their use has significant benefits for both Safety and the longevity of Heavy Equipment.
Dust from cleared land is hazardous, especially in dry and windy conditions. It often contains silica particles from soil or rock, pollen and allergens, microorganisms, and Pollutants.
Dust can be damaging to Heavy Equipment. Dusty air clogs air filters, forcing engines to work harder and leading to overheating or wear. Fine Dust particles can infiltrate joints, seals, and bearings, increasing friction and causing accelerated wear and tear. Keeping Dust down enhances visibility for operators, reducing the risk of accidents or damage.
On many Jobsites, Dust Suppression is not just good practice—it is a requirement.
