Formwork can be Temporary (removed after the concrete sets) or Permanent.

What forms are left in place permanently? Insulating concrete forms (ICFs) are concrete wall forming systems that are not removed after the concrete has hardened but stay in place permanently as part of the structure. The forms are generally made from high-density styrofoam or other lightweight materials.

Stripping: The process of removing formwork after concrete has set typically occurs 24–48 hours after pouring for walls and columns, and 3–4 days for slabs, with props remaining in place. The exact timing depends on factors like concrete type, load-bearing requirements, and environmental conditions.
